Pacing board
Ten words. One beat at a time.
About this activity
Dysarthria happens when the muscles you use for speech are weak or hard to control. Speech can come out fast, blurred or hard for others to follow.
Slowing down gives your muscles time to reach each sound. A pacing board helps you do that: you touch one square for each beat of a word, and say that beat as you touch it.
How it works
- Read the word and see how it breaks into beats.
- Tap the first square and say the first beat. Then the next, and the next.
- Say the whole word again, still slowly.
- Rate how clear it sounded to you.
Prefer a guide? Choose Follow the light and say each beat as its square lights up. You can move to any word at any time using the numbers at the top.
About this preview
A digital pacing board for rate control. Ten functional words build from two to four syllables. Clients tap one segment per syllable while producing it, or follow a paced light at a slow or steady tempo.
What it records
Each attempt logs the average gap between taps and how even the rhythm was, alongside the client’s own clarity rating. In Clinician mode you can add your intelligibility rating and notes per word. A summary is ready to email from the Progress tab.
Using it for home practice
Switch to Client mode. Progress saves in the client’s browser so they can send it to you.
